Tom and the team.
Somerset Fire Systems is led by Tom, our lead engineer, who has ten years’ experience in the trade. He surveys, designs, installs and services, so the person who explains your system is the person who fitted it.
We are the fire systems arm of the group that includes Somerset Sparks, an electrical contractor also based in Wells. That means electrical supplies, distribution boards and emergency lighting circuits can be done properly alongside the fire alarm.
How we work
- Specify properly. The system is designed to the standard and the building, and priced before work starts.
- Right-size the system. The cheapest adequate system is often not the biggest one. We say so.
- Leave records. Zone plan, logbook, certificates and instructions go next to the panel.
- Stay in touch. Servicing, faults and alterations are handled by the same people.

What we do not claim
We don’t carry out formal fire risk assessments, and we don’t promise a fire can never happen. We install and maintain the systems and equipment that assessments call for, and we help you understand what you have.
